Group Founder
Said Bin Salim Al-Shaksy, founder of The Shaksy Group, held a BA in Political Science, Economics and English Literature from the University of London, as well as a UN Fellowship in Commercial Policy and Principles of GATT, and a UN Fellowship in Development Financing.
During his early career, Mr. Al-Shaksy held several key positions in the public and private sectors, including Assistant Secretary & Protocol Officer in the Chief Minister's Office - Zanzibar, Principal Assistant Secretary in the Ministry of Finance - Zanzibar, and later as the Deputy Director of the Trucial States Council (presently United Arab Emirates federal government), and Credit Investigator in Citibank Dubai.
Prior to founding The Shaksy Group in 1976, Mr. Al-Shaksy played a pivotal role in the early Omani government, serving as the first Undersecretary at the Ministry of Health in Oman where he helped establish the ministry in 1970, and later as the Consul General of the Sultanate of Oman in Karachi, Pakistan.
Mr. Al-Shaksy also served as a board member and director of several Joint-Stock Companies, including Al Bank Al Ahli Al Omani SAOG, Oman Fisheries Co. SAOG and Oman Hotels Co. SAOG.
